This book was originally published prior to 1923, and represents a reproduction of an important historical work, maintaining the same format as the original work. While some publishers have opted to apply OCR (optical character recognition) technology to the process, we believe this leads to sub-optimal results (frequent typographical errors, strange characters and confusing formatting) and does not adequately preserve the historical character of the original artifact. We believe this work is culturally important in its original archival form. While we strive to adequately clean and digitally enhance the original work, there are occasionally instances where imperfections such as blurred or missing pages, poor pictures or errant marks may have been introduced due to either the quality of the original work or the scanning process itself. Despite these occasional imperfections, we have brought it back into print as part of our ongoing global book preservation commitment, providing customers with access to the best possible historical reprints. We appreciate your understanding of these occasional imperfections, and sincerely hope you enjoy seeing the book in a format as close as possible to that intended by the original publisher.

Documentary history of Dunmore war 1774 Reuben Gold Thwaites Louise Phelps Kellogg Books Reviews
Not finished yet. Purchased for insight into in life leading up to the Revolutionary War. Informative but not a fast read.
The book was shipped fast. It was in very good shape. I liked the sticker in the front of the book. Gen. Andrew Lewis is my 8th great grandfather who fought in Dunmore's war. Very good seller. Thanks for everything; < Cecil >
Bought for an assignment, but found very interesting to read also. Reading letters almost 150 years old interesting! Took place in my area too!
This was a replacement for a book I loaned and can't remember who has it. It is an essential tool in some of my research, so I was very glad to find a replacement.
Rather than being a narrative history, this book provides only a brief summary of events of Dunmore's War of 1774. Its real purpose and strength is its subsequent presentation of an exhaustive collection of documents, letters, and reports that complete the story. It contains a few maps that deal with very localized events. Reading the book is like being present as the events unfold and being a true eyewitness to history.
The book assumes that the reader already has a general understanding of the times and the setting. Therefore, to fully grasp the information presented, I suggest that the reader first familiarize himself with the circumstances of the period from the close of the French & Indian War to the beginning of the Revolution.
For the serious student of Dunmore's War and of events leading up to the Revolution, this book is a treasure.
This is an old text, but the historical facts are still true today. Good source of facts about this campaign and Lord Dunmore.
